Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs the manner in which Fitness Quest collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from the users of www.fitnessquest.co.uk and any service which results from the use of the website. This privacy policy applies to the site and all of the services offered by Fitness Quest including but not limited to personal training, group fitness and body composition testing.

Personal Identification Information

Fitness Quest collects personal identification information from users of its services in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: when users visit the Fitness Quest website, subscribe to the newsletter via Feedburner, respond to a survey, send an email to any email address ending in fitnessquest.co.uk, makes a comment or uses the contact form on the website, fills in a compulsory screening form for your own safety before physical activity, signing the fire register before each class and in connection to any other activity, service, feature or resource available on the website. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, age, gender, mailing address, phone number and body composition measurements. Users may, however, visit our site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain site or service related activities.

Non-personal identification information 
We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about users means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilised and other similar information.

Web browser cookies 

Our site uses 'cookies' to enhance the user experience. Your web browser places cookies on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about you. You may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do so, note that some parts of the site may not function properly.

How we use collected information

We may collect and use users personal information for the following purposes:
  • To improve customer service - Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
  • To personalise user experience - We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our users as a group use the services and resources provided on our site.
  • To improve our site - We may use feedback you provide to improve our services.
  • To send periodic emails - If your email is subscribed to the website via Feedburner your email address will receive email updates, of which you are free to unsubscribe from at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the email. 
  • Your email address may also be used to respond to enquiries, questions, and/or other requests that you have initiated.
  • Body composition and other data collected about you may be stored for the purpose of comparison should you wish to utilise the service(s) in the future.
  • Your name is stored to confirm your booking for any service your have agreed and paid to participate in. Your contact number and email address are stored in the event of a class cancellation or amendment. 
  • PAR-Q screening forms are stored and collected to ensure you are fit to take part in exercise and any previous or existing medical conditions are disclosed and discussed to ensure you will not be risking your health or safety by engaging in an exercise programme. These are stored for 12 months from completion, you are required to complete a PAR-Q screening form once every 12 months OR when you have any changes to your circumstances such as injury or illness.
  • Emergency contact (next of kin) information and any medical conditions are also stored and only used in the event of a medical emergency.

Social Media

Fitness Quest has social media channels on Facebook and Twitter and users of these websites should ensure they check the privacy policy outlined on each website. Occasionally, Fitness Quest may announce the winner of a competition via these social media channels, by liking the page and interacting with the page and competition you are agreeing to this. You should also be aware that any interaction including to but not limited to checking in, leaving a review, sharing, commenting, liking or being tagged by a friend will result in your name and interaction being displayed on the page. Fitness Quest also operates under Kettlercise Bournemouth on social media and the same privacy policy applies to those channels. You have the right to unfollow either of these accounts at any time and request that any previous media or information posts involving your account be removed from the page. By unfollowing the accounts you may not be eligible for future social media engagements such as competition entry.

How we protect your information 

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, and data stored on our site. Any payments that are processed are done so externally via PayPal or bank transfer (on request). Fitness Quest do not store any of your payment details. Should you wish to access the personal information Fitness Quest stores about you, you may request this and expect a full response within 30 days. If you require for any information Fitness Quest stores about you to be deleted, please request that Fitness Quest destroy the information within 30 days of your request. Fitness Quest will not store your information for longer than is necessary to provide a service to you, this may include but is not limited to your screening forms to ensure your safety at classes. It remains your duty to inform Fitness Quest of any changes to your circumstances and new data collection may be required for you to continue using the service. Any paper data collected is stored securely.

Sharing your personal information 

We do not sell, trade, or rent users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our site, provide timetable information and enable online booking and payment for Fitness Quest services is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Changes to this privacy policy 

Fitness Quest has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
